My name is Ashleigh, and I’m 21 years old. I’m currently working on earning my B.A. in English. I aspire to be a librarian and save the world one book at a time.
The most important lesson that I have learned in my life is the importance of reading. I grew up with a book glued to my hands, and my head in the stories. Being able to read and gain knowledge allowed me to live my life to the fullest (so far).
Libraries are essential to our lives because it provides enjoyment, knowledge and a place to hide from the real world. A person can go to the library and become anything they want. They can be a student, a teacher or even a hobbit. This site will take you through the inner workings of a library, even some of the most confusing systems they have. (Dewey decimal system anyone?) Don’t be scared, after viewing this website you will be mistaken for a librarian any time you walk into your local library. :)
